Avery M. Whitis, MD, an experienced OB-GYN with the team at OB-GYN Associates, PC in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dr. Whitis is dedicated to the health and well-being of women of all ages and is currently accepting new patients. She provides a wide range of women’s health services and has a special interest in contraception management, treatment of abnormal bleeding, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including robotic surgery. She also enjoys providing prenatal care for both routine and high-risk pregnancies.

Dr. Whitis completed both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She then completed her residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC). While at UIHC, she served as the Chief Resident. Dr. Whitis is board eligible with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

When she is not caring for women, Dr. Whitis enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and loves to hike and ski.
