Dr. Tagoni is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he majored in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics graduating cum laude. He completed his degree in dentistry at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School after completing a six year residency in the combined Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program. During his training he received exposure to dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, anesthesiology, facial trauma, TMJ surgery and orthognathic/corrective jaw surgery. Part of his training was spent at Boston Children’s Hospital in the department of Plastic and Oral Surgery, where he participated in assisting in the care of patients with craniofacial anomalies. While researching at Harvard he was published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, co-authored a book chapter and presented at national conferences.    

Dr. Tagoni grew up in Santa Barbara, California after moving from Venezuela at the age of eight. Growing up he enjoyed being next to the water and spending time with his family and friends. He is fluent in Spanish. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Stacey, traveling, reading, being physically active and spending time outdoors.

He has performed numerous dentoalveolar procedures which include removal of wisdom teeth, dental implants, bone grafting and biopsies under local anesthesia or intravenous sedation in private practice. He has also been actively involved in the care of complex facial trauma patients.
